Note,the SP1 sling is wrapped around the swivel and then stitched,the 601 is
wrapped,and folded under,then stitched.
Notice the difference in the early and late M1 sling hardware.
Early has a "flat and small keeper" and a tighter "belt buckle".

The 601 came with a uniquely designed sling.
602, early 603 and 604s used the Late cotton web sling.
Later they used the Nylon (seatbelt) "M1 Style" sling.
Note: The nomenclature "M1" for the sling does not refer to M1 Garand,it's
just "model 1" sling. Even though it was 1st issued for use with the Garand

SP1s came with a unique black 601 style sling.
